Light Duty Electric Vehicle Availability & Funding Opportunities

Electric Vehicles have a wealth of benefits, including significantly lower operating costs, excellent performance and quieter operation. In addition, to their many benefits, there are also substantial financial incentives available for the purchase or lease of light-duty electric vehicles, and for the installation of charging systems. Kevin Wood, Project Manager with the Center for Sustainable Energy will provide an overview of the growing number of models of electric, charging systems available and financial incentives that are available.

Bill Van Amburg, Senior Vice President of CALSTART, will provide a comprehensive review of the current availability of Medium Duty and Heavy Duty Electric Vehicles and the many funding resources that are available to help fleet operators incorporate them into their fleets.

Introducing Electric Vehicles into Private Fleets: A Case Study

Many public agencies have been introducing electric vehicles into their fleet operations for several years. Private companies are now beginning to investigate how they can successfully introduce electric vehicles into their fleets. Aric Ohana is Co-founder of Envoy, a private company that is placing thousands of electric vehicles into service. Mr. Ohana will provide insights into what it takes for a private company to implement electric vehicles into fleet operations. He will also talk about how fleets can use car sharing strategies to significantly reduce fleet costs while improving transportation opportunities for employees.
